ReCue Terms of Service
Effective date and last updated: July 25, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Xiamen Kandata Technology Co., Ltd. (厦门康达通科技有限公司), operating as HamsterBase ("HamsterBase," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your download, installation, purchase, activation, and use of the ReCue application, its documentation, this website, and the related license services (together, the "Services").
By downloading, installing, purchasing, activating, or using ReCue, you agree to these Terms. If you use ReCue for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use ReCue.
1. What ReCue does
ReCue is a macOS window workspace switcher. It groups existing windows and supported tabs by project, lets you search for them, and attempts to bring them back at their saved size and position.
Window and tab recall is best-effort and depends on macOS and the relevant third-party app. ReCue does not launch an app that is not running, recreate a window or tab that has been closed, copy the contents of a window, or replace a backup system.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally capable of entering into a contract where you live. If you have not reached the age of legal majority, you may use ReCue only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
3. License
Subject to these Terms, HamsterBase grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use ReCue.
- The free version may be used with the feature limits shown in the app and on the website.
- A valid one-time purchase unlocks the paid features for one purchaser on up to five Macs owned or controlled by that purchaser.
- The paid license does not expire on a recurring schedule and does not require a subscription.
- Personal and internal business use are allowed. A license may not be shared between unrelated purchasers, resold, rented, or offered as a service to third parties.
A one-time purchase covers the paid features included with the purchased ReCue product. It does not promise every future product, separately priced major upgrade, feature, or compatibility with every future version of macOS. Section 10 explains updates in more detail.
4. License restrictions
Except where applicable law or a third-party open-source license expressly permits it, you may not:
- copy, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or transfer ReCue or a ReCue license;
- share an order number, activation credential, or license-management credential with another purchaser;
- bypass or interfere with activation, device limits, security controls, or license checks;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive ReCue's source code;
- modify ReCue or create derivative works from it; or
- use ReCue unlawfully or to violate another person's rights.
You may make reasonable backup copies of the installer for your own licensed use.
5. Purchases and payment platforms
The price, currency, taxes, and product description shown at checkout control your transaction.
For customers outside mainland China, Paddle is the authorized reseller and merchant of record for purchases made through the HamsterBase Store. Paddle processes the transaction under its Buyer Terms, Refund Policy, and privacy notice.
For customers in mainland China, purchases may be completed through Mianbaoduo. Your payment and platform account are also governed by Mianbaoduo's service terms and other policies shown during checkout.
A paid license is issued only after successful payment. A refunded, reversed, charged-back, fraudulent, or otherwise invalid transaction may result in deactivation of the corresponding paid license, subject to applicable law.
6. Activation and device management
A paid license may be activated on up to five Macs at a time. You can remove a Mac from the license and use the available slot for another Mac.
ReCue generates a random device ID on each Mac. License checks send the product name and that device ID to the HamsterBase license service. For Mianbaoduo purchases, the order number is also used to redeem and manage the license. More information is in the ReCue Privacy Policy.
Treat an order number or other license-management credential as confidential. You are responsible for activity performed with a credential you disclose. Contact [email protected] if you believe it has been exposed.
An internet connection is required for purchase, activation, device management, and occasional license checks. ReCue's local window features do not otherwise depend on an internet connection.
7. Refunds and mandatory consumer rights
For a purchase made through Paddle, request a refund through Paddle Buyer Support or contact us. Paddle purchases are handled under Paddle's Refund Policy and any statutory withdrawal or refund rights that apply to you.
For a purchase made through Mianbaoduo, contact us and use the support or refund process provided by Mianbaoduo. Refund eligibility is determined by the applicable platform terms, the circumstances of the purchase, and applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a warranty, refund, withdrawal right, or other consumer protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
8. Local data, permissions, and privacy
ReCue stores project and window records locally on your Mac. It does not provide cloud sync or a cloud backup for that data. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of your Mac and saving work inside the apps whose windows you manage.
ReCue requires macOS Accessibility permission to identify, move, and focus windows. Saving supported tabs may also require Automation permission. You control these permissions in macOS System Settings and may revoke them, although doing so can prevent related features from working.
Our handling of device IDs, license information, support messages, and other data is described in the ReCue Privacy Policy.
9. Third-party apps and services
Apple, macOS, Paddle, Mianbaoduo, Alfred, Ghostty, Google Chrome, and other third-party products and services are independent from HamsterBase and are governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party products or changes they make.
Integrations may stop working or behave differently after a macOS or third-party app update. We may modify or discontinue an integration when reasonably necessary for compatibility, security, legal compliance, or product maintenance.
ReCue may include third-party software components. Those components remain subject to their respective license terms.
10. Updates, changes, and availability
We may provide maintenance updates, bug fixes, compatibility updates, or new features at our discretion. We may change the free-version limits or offer a future major upgrade or separate product for an additional price, but we will clearly identify it before purchase.
A current paid license remains valid for the last compatible ReCue version made available under that license. We do not guarantee that an older ReCue version will remain compatible with future hardware, operating systems, or third-party apps.
We may maintain, replace, or discontinue online components of the Services. If a planned change materially affects activation of valid paid licenses, we will use reasonable efforts to give notice or provide a practical alternative where possible.
We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, or operational changes. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Changes will apply prospectively unless the law requires otherwise. If a material change requires your consent, we will request it.
11. Ownership and feedback
ReCue and its original code, design, documentation, trademarks, and other intellectual property are owned by HamsterBase or its licensors. These Terms grant a license to use ReCue; they do not transfer ownership.
If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us permission to use them without restriction or compensation. This does not give us ownership of your confidential information or content.
12. Suspension and termination
You may end these Terms at any time by stopping use of ReCue and uninstalling it.
We may suspend or terminate a license if you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms, circumvent licensing controls, use a fraudulent payment, or present a material security or legal risk. Where appropriate and legally required, we will give reasonable notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach.
After termination of a license, you must stop using the paid features and delete copies you are no longer entitled to use. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, warranty disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms, will survive.
13. Warranty disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReCue and the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every app or display setup, or able to restore every window, tab, size, or position.
ReCue is not a backup or data-recovery tool. Save your work and maintain backups appropriate to your needs.
This section does not affect warranties or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, HamsterBase and its directors, employees, contractors, and licensors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, business, goodwill, or data, arising from or related to ReCue or the Services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from or related to ReCue or the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for ReCue or US$10.
These limitations do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country or region continue to apply where required by law.
Before filing a formal claim, please contact [email protected] so we can try to resolve the issue. Any unresolved dispute may be brought before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law.
16. General
These Terms, the ReCue Privacy Policy, and any checkout terms that apply to your transaction form the agreement governing your use of ReCue. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
You may not assign these Terms or your license without our written consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, reorganization, sale of assets, or transfer of the ReCue business, subject to applicable law.
